Founder and Chief Operations Officer
Dr. Daniel Tan is a physician and healthcare entrepreneur who has spent the last decade building mental health organizations designed to do things differently. He is the founder of Top Tier Psychiatry, a national network of premier outpatient clinics focused on delivering timely, personalized mental health care.
Dr. Tan earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and holds a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management from Columbia University. Before medical school, he worked as a respiratory therapist in ICU settings at the University of Virginia — an experience that shaped his understanding of how deeply physical and emotional health are connected. He later completed a psychiatry internship before turning his focus to transforming mental health delivery through entrepreneurship.
Since launching his first healthcare venture in 2015, Dr. Tan has founded multiple behavioral health practices and related ventures across the country. Each one has been driven by the same question: how do we build systems of care that are faster, smarter, and more human?
That question is at the heart of Top Tier Psychiatry. Under his leadership, the organization has grown into a national consortium of clinics committed to the highest standards of care — making quality mental health support more accessible to people who need it, when they need it.
When he's not working, Dr. Tan enjoys training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, dancing with his wife, and exploring new places with their daughter.
