What is Medication Management?
Medication management means making sure the medication you are on is still the right one, at the right dose, doing what it is supposed to do. It means regular check-ins, honest conversations about side effects, and adjustments when things are not right.
Too many people get started on a psychiatric medication and then nobody follows up properly. Or they see a family doctor who is stretched thin and does not have time to fine-tune things. That is how people end up stuck on a medication that is not working -- or dealing with side effects they do not have to live with.
How It Works
After your first evaluation, follow-up visits run about 15-30 minutes. We ask how you are doing, whether the medication is helping, and if anything has changed. If we need to adjust -- change the dose, try something different, or add a medication -- we do it.
Most stable patients come in every 1-3 months. If you are on a controlled substance like Adderall or Vyvanse for ADHD, monthly visits are standard.
What We Prescribe
We manage the full range of psychiatric medications. SSRIs like Zoloft and Lexapro. Stimulants like Adderall and Vyvanse. Mood stabilizers like Lamictal. Buspirone and hydroxyzine for anxiety. SNRIs like Effexor and Cymbalta. Whatever your condition calls for, we know how to manage it.
Insurance and Payment
Follow-up visits are covered by most plans. We accept Blue Cross NC, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and NC Medicaid. Cash pay is available.
Time for a Change?
If your refills are a headache. If your provider is hard to get ahold of. If you feel rushed every time you go in. If nobody has checked whether your medication still makes sense -- those are all good reasons to look for something better. We keep it simple and we pay attention.
