Psychiatric Care in Greenville, NC

We provide psychiatric medication management, evaluations, GeneSight testing, and ESA letters for adults in the Greenville area and across Eastern North Carolina. Mental health care should not be complicated. You tell us what is going on. We figure out the right medication. You start feeling better.

Who We Help in Greenville

Greenville is the hub of Eastern NC. ECU Health is the biggest employer in the region -- over 12,000 people working in one of only six Level I Trauma Centers in the state. Nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, and support workers keeping that hospital running around the clock. That kind of work wears people down. Then there is East Carolina University with over 5,000 employees and 24,000 students. Pitt County Schools with 3,600 staff members. These are the people who keep this community going.

Beyond the big employers, we see workers from Thermo Fisher Scientific, Hyster-Yale, and Grady-White Boats. Families driving in from Winterville, Ayden, Farmville, and other parts of Pitt County. Agricultural workers from the rural communities that surround Greenville. Military families connected to Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point who live in the area. If you need psychiatric help and you are in Eastern NC, we are here.

Our Approach

Your first appointment is a full psychiatric evaluation -- about 45-60 minutes. We ask direct questions about what you are dealing with, what medications you have tried, and what has and has not worked. Then we put together a medication plan. No long wait lists for therapy referrals. No months of talking before anyone addresses your medication. We get to work.

If you have been on medications before and they did not help -- or the side effects were worse than the problem -- GeneSight testing can give us answers. It is a cheek swab. Results come back in about a week. It shows us which medications your body handles well and which ones it does not. That means less guessing and faster results.

We also do Emotional Support Animal evaluations for patients who qualify.

For ECU Students

East Carolina University and Pitt Community College students deal with the same mental health issues as students anywhere -- anxiety, ADHD, depression, trouble sleeping, trouble focusing. The difference is that mental health resources in Eastern NC can be harder to find. Campus counseling centers have wait lists. We do not. If you are a student and your mental health is getting in the way of your grades or your life, reach out. We can get you in and get you on the right medication.

For Working Professionals

ECU Health nurses working 12-hour overnight shifts. Pitt County teachers managing classrooms of 25 kids. Thermo Fisher lab techs handling precise work under pressure. Hyster-Yale production workers on their feet all day. Your job is demanding and your mental health affects how well you do it. We help with anxiety, ADHD, depression, insomnia, and other conditions that hold you back at work and at home.

Insurance and Payment

We accept Blue Cross NC, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and MedCost. NC Medicaid plans accepted include Healthy Blue, WellCare, and AmeriHealth Caritas. If you do not have insurance, cash pay is available.

Getting Started

Frequently Asked Questions About Greenville Care

What insurance do you accept?
We accept Blue Cross NC, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, MedCost, and NC Medicaid plans including Healthy Blue, WellCare, and AmeriHealth Caritas. Cash pay is available for patients without insurance.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first appointment is a mental health check-up that takes about 45-60 minutes. We review your symptoms, your history, and any medications you have tried. You leave with a diagnosis and a medication plan.
Do you treat ADHD in adults?
Yes. Many adults have ADHD that was never diagnosed or was diagnosed in childhood but never properly treated. We evaluate and prescribe medication for adult ADHD.
Do you see patients from outside Greenville?
Yes. We see patients from across Eastern NC including Winterville, Ayden, Farmville, Washington, Kinston, and other communities in the region.
Can ECU students see you?
Yes. We work with ECU and Pitt Community College students. If anxiety, ADHD, or depression is affecting your grades or your daily life, we can help.
What is GeneSight testing?
GeneSight is a cheek swab that shows how your body processes mental health medications. If past medications have not worked or caused bad side effects, this test helps us pick better options. Results come back in about a week.
Can you write an Emotional Support Animal letter?
We provide ESA check-ups for patients whose anxiety or depression a lot affects their daily life. This is assessed as part of your mental health care -- we do not write letters without a proper check-up.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
Most new patients can be seen within one to two weeks. Fill out our contact form and we will call you to schedule.
