Psychiatric Care for Asheville and Western NC
We provide psychiatric medication management, evaluations, GeneSight testing, and ESA letters for adults in the Asheville area. Our providers understand the pressures that come with living in one of North Carolina's most beautiful -- and most expensive -- mountain communities.
Who We Help in Asheville
Asheville's economy runs on healthcare, hospitality, and manufacturing. Nurses and techs pulling long shifts at Mission Hospital. Line cooks and servers working double shifts downtown during tourist season. Production workers at GE Aviation and Pratt and Whitney keeping up with demanding schedules. These jobs come with real stress -- irregular hours, physical exhaustion, and the pressure to stay sharp when you are running on empty.
We also work with Biltmore Estate employees managing the grind of seasonal hospitality work. Teachers in Buncombe County Schools who carry the weight of their classrooms home every night. Retail staff at Ingles Markets and small business owners on Haywood Road trying to keep up with rising rents. Veterans getting care through the VA but looking for additional psychiatric support. If your work or your life in Asheville is wearing you down, we can help.
Our Approach to Medication Management
We focus on getting your medication right. That means a thorough psychiatric evaluation at your first appointment, a clear review of what you have tried before, and a plan that makes sense for your life. If past medications have not worked, we offer GeneSight testing -- a simple cheek swab that shows how your body processes different psychiatric medications. No more guessing.
We also provide Emotional Support Animal evaluations for qualifying patients. If anxiety or depression significantly affects your daily life, an ESA letter may be appropriate.
For Asheville Students
College comes with its own set of pressures. UNC Asheville students balancing coursework with part-time jobs in a high cost-of-living city. AB Tech Community College students juggling classes with full-time work or family responsibilities. Academic stress, sleep problems, and anxiety are common -- and they do not have to derail your semester. We work with students to find medication solutions that help you stay focused without slowing you down.
For Working Professionals
Asheville attracts driven people -- creatives, entrepreneurs, healthcare workers, and skilled tradespeople. But burnout does not care about your passion. If you work at Mission Hospital, Thermo Fisher Scientific, the Biltmore Company, or any of the hundreds of small businesses that make Asheville run, and you are struggling with focus, sleep, mood, or anxiety, we are here to help. We work around demanding schedules because we know your time matters.
Insurance and Payment
We accept Blue Cross NC, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and MedCost. We also accept NC Medicaid plans including Healthy Blue, WellCare, and AmeriHealth Caritas. Cash pay is available for patients without insurance.
Getting Started
Getting started is simple. Fill out our contact form and our team will reach out to schedule your first appointment. Your initial evaluation typically takes 45-60 minutes. You will leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis and a medication plan. Follow-up appointments are shorter and focused on making sure your treatment is working. Most patients start feeling better within a few weeks of finding the right medication.
