Who We Help in Idaho Falls
Idaho Falls is the largest city in eastern Idaho, anchoring a region that stretches from the Tetons to the Snake River Plain. The Idaho National Laboratory employs over 5,000 people. The medical center serves a regional population of 200,000-plus. The growth keeps coming. The mental health workforce has not kept pace. New patients calling psychiatrists in Idaho Falls are routinely quoted multi-month waits. We are accepting new patients now.
We treat adults and teens 15 and older dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, insomnia, PMDD, and more. Whether you grew up in Bonneville County or moved here for an INL position last year, the conditions are the same -- and access to care is the bottleneck.
We see patients from Idaho Falls, Ammon, Rigby, Rexburg, Blackfoot, Pocatello, and across eastern Idaho.
Our Approach
This is a psychiatry practice. We evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medication. We do not do therapy, but we can refer you to someone who does.
Your first appointment is about 45 minutes. We go through your symptoms, medical history, what you have tried, and what has not worked. If medication is the right call, we start it that day. No waiting weeks for a follow-up to "discuss options."
For patients who have cycled through multiple medications without finding one that works, we offer GeneSight testing -- a cheek swab that shows how your body metabolizes common psychiatric drugs. We also provide psychiatric evaluations and Emotional Support Animal letters for qualifying patients.
For Students
BYU-Idaho is in nearby Rexburg with about 30,000 enrolled students -- many living in Idaho Falls and commuting. The University of Idaho operates a research campus tied to INL. Idaho State University, while based in Pocatello, draws students from Idaho Falls. ADHD diagnosed in college, anxiety that escalated with independence, depression that makes a daily commute impossible -- these are the most common patterns we see in this age group. Get evaluated before the semester is over.
For Working Professionals
The Idaho National Laboratory is the largest employer in Idaho Falls and one of the largest in the state -- nuclear and energy research operated by Battelle Energy Alliance. Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is the area's largest hospital. Melaleuca is headquartered here. The City of Idaho Falls and Bonneville Joint School District employ thousands. Premier Technology, Mountain America Credit Union, and several engineering firms supporting INL round out the major employers.
Eastern Idaho's economy depends on highly trained scientists, engineers, healthcare workers, and educators -- people who cannot afford to be slowed down by untreated mental health conditions but routinely are because care is hard to access. We are here to close that gap.
