Who We Help in Phoenix
The Valley moves fast. New jobs, new neighborhoods, new starts -- and new stress that comes with all of it. Phoenix is full of people who relocated for opportunity and are now figuring out how to keep up. We get it.
Rise Higher Psychiatry and Mental Health treats adults and teens 15 and older across the Phoenix metro. ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, PMDD -- we diagnose it, treat it, and help you build a plan that works with your life. Not against it.
We see the tech worker in Chandler who has been grinding through 60-hour weeks and cannot sleep. The ASU student in Tempe who got through high school fine but is falling apart now that the structure is gone. The military spouse near Luke Air Force Base who has moved three times in five years and has no support system here yet. The hospitality manager in Scottsdale who smiles all day and crashes every night.
Phoenix is a city of builders. But building something takes energy -- and untreated mental health conditions drain that energy fast. We help you get it back.
Our Approach
We are a psychiatry practice. That means medication management, not talk therapy. If you need therapy, we can point you in the right direction -- but our job is to evaluate your symptoms, find the right diagnosis, and get you on a treatment plan that works.
Your first appointment is a full psychiatric evaluation. We ask about your symptoms, your history, your goals. It is not a 10-minute med check. We take the time to understand what is going on before we prescribe anything.
If you have tried medications before and they did not work -- or the side effects were worse than the symptoms -- we offer GeneSight testing. It is a simple cheek swab that shows how your body processes different psychiatric medications. It takes the guesswork out of finding the right one.
We also provide ESA letter evaluations for patients who qualify. If an emotional support animal would be part of your treatment, we can assess that during your care.
For Students
Phoenix is a college town whether people realize it or not. Arizona State University is one of the largest universities in the country, with campuses in Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, and Mesa. Grand Canyon University, the University of Arizona -- Phoenix campus, and Maricopa Community College District serve tens of thousands more.
College is when a lot of mental health conditions show up for the first time. ADHD that was manageable in high school becomes unmanageable when nobody is structuring your day. Anxiety ramps up with academic pressure. Depression hits when you are 2,000 miles from everyone you know. We see students regularly and understand the academic pressures specific to this stage of life.
For Working Professionals
The Phoenix metro is one of the fastest-growing job markets in the country. Banner Health, HonorHealth, and Dignity Health employ thousands in healthcare. State Farm and USAA have major operations here. Intel runs a massive fabrication facility in Chandler. Wells Fargo, American Express, and a growing tech corridor bring in workers from across the country.
Luke Air Force Base adds a significant military population on the west side. Maricopa County and the City of Phoenix are major government employers. Mesa Public Schools and Phoenix Union High School District employ thousands of educators.
These are demanding jobs. Long hours, high stakes, constant performance pressure. We schedule appointments that work around real work schedules -- because telling your boss you need every other Tuesday off is not realistic.
